Hello FUBARians,
Long time no speak and I apologize for the
delay. It's been quite a while since I've updated any of my sites
and I plan to update all of them. I have some time now as I
have completed a bunch of projects that were taking up a majority of my
time. You can read about those at the DARTH
M site... (again I apologize for the pop-ups on these sites, but free is after all,
free...)
So anyway, my company, Aerodynamics,
won a contract with the NATIONAL SCIENTIFIC BALLOON FACILITY (www.NSBF.NASA.gov),
a department of NASA, which started last April. The contract which
is for four years with two extensions, is for us to manage and provide
flight crews for two aircraft (Conquest C-441 & King Air C-90) for
them for administrative and balloon recovery purposes.
The admin. flights are just that, carrying the
executives around for meetings, etc, but the recovery flights are a bit
different. They include carrying equipment and/or the payload
specialists downrange for the termination of balloon, coordinating with ATC for airspace dedication and low-altitude path
finding in order to assist ground crews once the payload and balloon have
impacted.
It's been a lot of fun and very mission based,
not the typical "hurry-up-and-wait" rigmarole of charter
operations. Anyway, that's what I've been up too for the past six
months and why YOUR FREAKIN DAILY JOKE (YFDJ) has slipped as well as the
sites. So. On that note, I hope all are
well and to read up on my other projects, be sure to go to the DARTH
M site. Until next time, enjoy the new STUFF,
FOTQ
and the other goodies on THE NET that I've
added/updated... Talk later, |
