Hey gang!  Wow, has it been 18 months since the last Darth M update?  Good grief, this is becoming too much of a habit!  One of the downsides of social media of course is, while I’m updating my Facebook page, I find I’m neglecting this website!  That said, like a trusty old car, there’s nothing like settling back in behind the wheel…  So here we go – 18 months of updates!  (Oh, and for sake of not boring the utmost crap out of you, this will be more photos, less text and hopefully a lot of smiles - Well, except for the sad bits – we had some of those too :o( So, ALL THE WAY back in May of 2013 the kids made their way back to the Dallas Comic-Con!  In attendance w/ fellow cos-players Stef and Rachel – Little Dude and the girls made quite the buzz.  Enjoying all the con has to offer and the new (and old) friends the kids met, all kinds of fun was had -

Moving into Spring 2013, of course that means Baseball season and softball season!  The Little dude was once again excited about his Texas Rangers and even got a couple more autographs to build his baseball collection!?         That mentioned, it should be noted the autograohs that were achieved!  It was a huge day for the Cyber Kid, Alex & Co. as they both got a unique opportunity to meet Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez of the Texas Rangers (and get pics and autographs.) Not ONLY that, the boys waited in the extreme Texas heat and were fortunate enough to meet Derek Jeter and both get a ball signed!  A glorious week to say the least!  Enjoy these pics of the various coolness -

Of course it wouldn't be Spring without Our own Superstars playing some ball - Under the guidance of Darth M, both Jess & Alex continue to excel in baseball & softball for the Spring 2013!...

Unfortunately, we had a sad bit of events in Sept of 2013 when our beloved Wookie-Dog Chewbacca came down w/ an aggressive Mast-Cell Tumor infestation.         Inoperable and merely only able to symptomatically treat Chewie, she succumbed to the disease after a valiant battle that lasted for a month or so.         One of our best puppies, we miss her everyday :o( …

       Of course FALL Baseball ended w/ A CHAMPIONSHIP season for Alex & company!  A nailbiter to the very end, the boys pulled out a victory in the last inning!  Of course Little dude got to celebrate at his favorite (or maybe it’s Daddy’s?) eatery and hanging w/ his biggest fans. Of course the loss of Chewie didn’t go unnoticed around the FUBARHQ for long as the sound of doggie pitter-patter was lacking in the household.  Sure, Scouty-Roo was still around but the old boy just didn’t make the “Noise” we were accustomed too, so this happened!...  Meet the two newest additions to our family Maverick & Grace!  (Australian Shepherds)

       So, conventions behind us and school year well entrenched as well move into March, the Kids along w/ Daddy decided they were going to take advantage this spring break with a trip to the Big Apple.  So, for 3 ½ days and 3 nights, the kids had a whirlwind adventure in New York!  A ride on the Staten Island Ferry (to see southern Manhattan), Times Square (to see all the lights), Union Square Park (to play chess), the empire state building, subways, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, American Museum of Natural History and loads of pizza, pretzels and junk food – the trio had a blast (Mummy on the other hand… stayed home to work :o(

Near the end of March, the kids and Daddy were able to hit the 1^st Annual TABLE (Tabletop And Board-Gaming Learning Expo.) The guest of honor was none other than the legendary game designer Steve Jackson.  Jessie and Daddy had the unique opportunity to play-test a demo of Steve Jackson’s new upcoming game Loot Letter!  (A Munchkin themed version of the game Love Letter) The kids had loads of fun playing various board and card games and of course the uber Geek had a blast getting all of his Steve Jackson games signed!

       So of course we ring in the Spring 2014 w/ more baseball and softball!  Alex got some more autographs and his defending championship team made it to the Spring Championship for the second straight season and took 2nd Place!

       So, sadly, in May of 2014 the little people had to say goodbye to yet another of our buddies.  Scouty-Roo, the old boy finally just got too old.  With mobility issues and in lots of arthritic pain, it was time for the old boy to roam free!  Somewhere in the range of 14-16 (We really never knew how old he was?)  The end of the era was upon us as we said goodbye to the last of the trio that comprised Keighley, Chewbacca and Scout!

       So, back to better days - In late Spring after baseball, (prior to Fall-Ball) Alex was able to head down to the Texas Rangers Ballpark and take a pitching clinic.  Alex was in the Rangers bullpen for some one on one instruction with the Rangers own pitching coach Mike Maddux;

So, with Comic-Cons, sports and the like all behind us, we got to look forward to Thanksgiving!  And what, did we do for Thanksgiving you ask?         Well, the Cyber Kid (aka Darth M, aka Mage) loaded up the entire group (including the Mother-In-Law) and made our way to Central Florida for some Sun and Fun!  A week long adventure, the kids got to do the following – Visit w/ Mermaids and see Bachi; Spend a day in the Magic Kingdom (where Jess and the Cyber Kid met many of the infamous Disney Princesses!)  Spend a couple days in Daytona Beach, enjoying sun, sand and a BIG turkey for Thanksgiving; Finally capping the week off with a day at Universal Studios' Wizarding World of Harry Potter!  Having finished all 7 Harry Potter audio books during the last 7 months, the parks served as the icing on the cake as they got to visit the Hogwarts castle, Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley as well as ride the Hogwarts express and various other Harry Potter themed attractions!  Just look at how much fun everyone had - Don't forget you can see ALL of these pictures AND more on each of the kids photo galleries!?...

       In late 2013, Darth-M hooked up w/ none other than the infamous "Lou-Man!?"  One of Darth Mater's oldest friends.  The two got together for some food and "people-watching" in New York -

       So that pretty much killed the end of 2014, so then we rolled into 2015.  So, the $64,000 dollar question is, what rings in a new year better than a Comic-Con?  That's right, the correct answer (in Jeopardy speak) is; "What is Nothing Alex?" - That sir, is the correct answer!
